We are proud to share to the following message from Logan Krohn, one of the student organizers for the march.  We urge to consider making a donation and sharing the message.   -WDUA

On March 24, citizens across Dallas will take to the streets in solidarity with the March For Our Lives and stand united in support of common sense gun laws. This event is being organized by studentsmarch.org, a newly created organization led by local Dallas students - with the advice of organizers who've worked on past marches – who have joined the national movement that has inspired hundreds of satellite marches across the country. In Dallas, the students will launch a campaign that calls on residents of Dallas to contact their elected officials in support of universal background checks, a ban on bump stocks, and a ban on high-capacity magazines. We will be working to register voters, specifically ages 18-29 during school walkouts and major events, and foremost, increasing voter turnout. The campaign will culminate on Saturday, May 5th - while the NRA hosts its national convention in Dallas - with a rally at City Hall that makes it clear which candidates stand with the students and which candidates stand with the NRA. We will make history, but not without your support.

An immediate need we have is $5,000 for funding to cover the all-important line-item of apparel. We've designed Dallas-specific shirts that we will be providing to volunteers and team members, as well as selling them to raise money for the rally that's being organized during the NRA convention in May. The vendor has graciously offered us shirts at-cost ($5/each for inventory and printing), which allows us to sell them to supporters for $25 and students for $10. This will help raise needed funding, while also providing a reasonable price point so students can represent the cause. If you can donate a portion of this much-needed fund, please reach out as soon as possible!

Furthermore, we need your help spreading the word! Please, post our GoFundMe link: https://www.gofundme.com/MFOLDallas! It is through our crowd-sourced fundraising that we hope to finance our voter registration efforts and student demonstrations and organizing a summit on May 5th.

All donations support this local movement. The costs are considerable: from renting sound equipment, paying for security, securing street permits, and buying t-shirts, student leaders are in need of your support! Please join our Facebook Page for more information.  We also want to recognize those who go above and beyond our call-to-action, so please, get in touch with us for further sponsorship and fundraising opportunities!

Again, thank you for your continued support and please let me know at your earliest convenience whether you're able to make a contribution.

With appreciation,

Logan Krohn & MFOL Student Organizing Committee
