Matt Angle
Matt Angle is a veteran of national and state Democratic politics with a proven record of success. Over his more than 30 years as a political professional, including his tenure as Chief of Staff to former Rep. Martin Frost of Texas and as the founder and director of the Lone Star Project, Angle has won a reputation as a shrewd and practical problem solver. While Angle’s roots are deeply planted in Texas, his no-nonsense political skills have made him one of Washington’s most respected voices within Democratic circles.
From 2000 – 2004, Matt Angle served as the Executive Director of the U.S. House Democratic Caucus. Angle also served as Executive Director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) during the 1996 and 1998 election cycles. From 2005 through 2010, Angle directed the Texas Democratic Trust, a project he conceived and structured. Angle now directs the widely respected Lone Star Project which he founded in 2005.
On the national level, Angle is recognized as an authority on redistricting. He provides electoral and demographic analysis for plaintiffs seeking fair redistricting boundaries and has served as an expert witness in key redistricting litigation. Angle has also served as a redistricting advisor to America Votes, a partnership of progressive organizations aimed at voter mobilization, providing both strategic advice and organizational support.
